I started Hack Your Muse, the podcast, and the coaching service because these are the things I wanted to hear, and have to support me, as a writer when I first started out. If I'd had them, I would have published faster, and with more confidence.
I've published 20 books in four different genres, with three publishers (historical romance with Kensington Publishing, Young Adult romance and fantasy with Simon and Schuster, and science fiction, romance, and fantasy with my own indie publishing brand).
My novel, The Next Best Bride made it to the USA Today bestseller list based on a marketing campaign I designed and ran myself.
I trained as a tutor the Orton-Gillingham method when my youngest son was diagnosed with dyslexia, and I have used the valuable focus I learned in delivering reading lessons to reluctant teens to create focused tools to coach myself (and other writers) past writing obstacles.
When another woman might be thinking of retirement, I'm following my entreprenial dreams to help writers write, finish -- and sell -- their books.
I created a reading skill game with my game designer son called Magnispies (sadly, it does not run on the newest operating systems because we have been too busy to update it, but I dream of one day changing that situation).
I have read many books that never got published in my life as a writer, and each one makes me sad for the readers who'll never get a chance to read them.
“[Kelly] gave me the courage and permission to get out of my way and write.”
I write (business) non-fiction. But I've always wanted to write fiction. A thriller. I knew it was in me, buried deep. But finding the courage to write, to give myself permission, had been a challenge; mission impossible.

So Just How Can I Help You Finish Your Book?
By cutting through your mind chatter with one clear message:
Your mission is simple: leap over every obstacle, ignore each distraction, and write until you finish your book.
Imagine it with me.
You, with a finished book. Wouldn't it be great?
What's the catch? Well, simple isn't easy.
As I know well, from 40 years of writing experience.
Let me guide you through the leaps, and teach you how to ignore distractions using my hard-won experience.
